By: Barbara Scholz • Illustrations: Barbara Scholz Translation: Razi Najjar

In this humorous story, Professor Zweistein and his dog Albert go in search of the legendary “Tohuwabohu”. On their journey through the jungle, the dog photographs all kinds of curiosities. Children need to find ten mistakes on each spread. In addition to the fun of discovering mistakes, the book invites discussion on what is “normal” and what is not, what is reality and what is nonsense. An invitation to children to have fun making up nonsense themselves. Original book is in German: Verflixt, hier stimmt was nicht.

Age Group: First grade

Dear Parents,

Professor Zweistein and his friend Albert travel in search of a rare creature called Tohuwabohu. In their search for him in the desert, in snowy countries, in forests and rivers, they discover a wonderful island, where there are strange and curious things that cannot be explained by reason and logic.

This interactive book invites the child to accompany Professor Zweistein and his friend on their adventure, and to search for these strange objects with them. The book playfully invites the child to employ careful observations, pay attention to small details, and see things with an illogical perspective.

This ability to see things outside their usual context is important for developing the child’s intellectual flexibility, helping them in dealing with events, problems and relationships from different angles, and stimulating their creative thinking.

So let’s buckle up and set off to a new adventure with our child on the island!
