Terms of Use and Privacy Policy

Available toYou may use the Lantern Library websites and services subject to the following terms and conditions:

 

The Lantern Library Project, affiliated with the Grinspoon-Israel Fund (a public interest company), (hereinafter – the Fund) and/or the “Lantern Library”), working in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, annually provides high-quality books to approximately 200,000 children in kindergarten, first and second grade throughout the country, who are enrolled in public education, private education, and special education. The Lantern Library seeks to endear children to books, encourage parents to read to and with their children, and enjoy the family activities suggested at the end of each book. It is a space for sharing thoughts and feelings, and for dialoguing about human values that parents want to pass on to their children. The Lantern Library supports parents and educators to support children in developing their knowledge and learning skills, enriching their mother tongue, enhancing their emotional and social awareness, and celebrating the richness of their Arabic culture, thus contributing to the establishment of a culture of reading at home and in the community. The project also conducts extensive online activities. The following are the terms of use to participate in the Lantern Library and the activities offered by its sites.

 

  1. Agree:
  • Please read the Terms carefully and refrain from using the sites and/or services offered by The Lantern Library if you do not agree with them.
  • Reading the contents of the Site and any use you make of the Site and the Fund’s services constitutes your full acceptance of all of the Terms of Use set forth below.
  • We hereby clarify that the Terms of Use apply whether you browse the Fund’s websites, Facebook page and/or use its services as part of a project, whether through your computer or through an app and/or personal mobile phone, etc. Wherever the word “Site” appears, it refers to all IFAD Sites individually and collectively.
  • If you are a minor under the age of 18, refrain from using the Site without your parents’ consent, and please read these Terms of Use carefully with your parents and obtain their consent to use the Services and the Fund’s Sites before using them.

 

  1. Content ownership and copyright:
  • All intellectual property rights, including copyrights and moral rights of authors in works and content appearing on this website (such as works, texts, graphics, symbols, images, videos, drawings, books, letters, songs, melodies, illustrations, etc. (hereinafter: “Contents”) belong to the Fund and/or the authors, publishers and/or other third parties who have authorized the Fund to use them.
  • Use of the Site and/or the Contents is intended solely for the user’s personal and private use, and any other use, including any commercial, public and/or wholesale use, is strictly prohibited.
  • The User may, at its own risk, make “fair use” of the Content and the Site for self-study purposes, and/or for educational and research purposes by a User that is an educational institution, as required by the rules set forth by law. However, nothing in these Terms of Use shall be construed as granting the User any license or consent to make any use of the Content, express or implied.
  • Accordingly, under fair use, and subject to copyright, you may not copy, distribute, transmit, display, print, publish, photograph, film, edit, make available to the public, sell, and/or otherwise use the Site and/or any part or component thereof and/or the Content, except with the prior written consent of the Fund. No falsification, derogation or other alteration of the Content, or any act that would diminish the value of the Protected Content, which would damage the dignity and goodwill of the copyright holder’s name, shall be made, and moral credit shall be given to the copyright holder and the source shall be confirmed.
  • Let it be clear that any alteration or use of the Content that does not comply with the foregoing constitutes an infringement of various rights, including infringement of copyrights, promotions, etc., whether belonging to the Fund and/or third parties who have authorized the Fund to use them, and the User undertakes to compensate for direct material damage and the value of the damage to the Fund and/or any third party whose rights have been infringed by its unlawful use of the Content, upon their first claim.

 

Parental Responsibility and User Content Downloads

  • The Site allows the use of various tools through which you, as users, can send files, texts, images, photos, graphics, videos, works and special content from your child and/or from you, in accordance with the Terms of Use. In light of the inherent openness of the Internet, we hereby clarify that all responsibility for the user’s activity on the Site rests solely with the user, and in the case of minors, with their parents and/or legal guardian.

As part of the project implemented in kindergartens and schools, educational staff may video, photograph and/or film your child’s work and other content as defined above, provided that the parents consent in advance and in writing in the school year, in which case the staff will send the content to the Lantern Library for uploading to their websites as detailed below.

 

  • It is the responsibility of the educational institution’s staff to ensure parental consent, and Lantern Library has no authority or responsibility in this regard. Therefore, if you do not agree with the staff photographing your child and/or sending such content to the Lantern Library, please notify the staff clearly and in writing.
  • If, despite your disapproval, educational staff transmit content in which your child has participated and/or your own content to the Lantern Library and upload it to its website, you may request removal of the content by contacting the Lantern Library at fanoos@hgf.org.il, and you will have no claims against the Lantern Library and/or anyone acting on its behalf.
  • For your information, the content you submit to the Lantern Library and/or once you authorize the educational staff to photograph your child and submit such content, which will be uploaded to the Site, will be visible and exposed to all Internet users who can use it, and the Fund and/or any person acting on its behalf has no authority and/or responsibility for it. IFAD, its designees and/or educational institutions are not responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and privacy of the Submitted Content, are not responsible for its use by a third party, and will not be liable for any consequence due to the uploading of the Content and/or use by any third party. You hereby waive any claim and/or demands against such parties.
  • The Fund is under no obligation to publish content submitted to it by users and/or educational institutions. Content is published on the Fund’s website, at the Fund’s discretion, including with respect to the manner, place and duration of such publication. IFAD reserves the right, and will be authorized at any time, to refrain from posting, delete, and/or modify (whether posted or unposted), in whole or in part, the content submitted to it by the user and/or educational staff, without any prior notice and without requiring the consent of the user who uploaded, posted, and/or submitted the content.
  • Any content submitted by a User and/or Educational Staff to the Lantern Library, including content submitted by a User on the Site and/or by Educational Staff, and whether broadcast or posted on the Site, is entirely the responsibility of the User/Educational Staff who submitted the content to the Lantern Library. Accordingly, if you choose to submit, broadcast and/or upload content as part of your use of the Site, and/or if you give your consent for the Educational Staff to transmit your content and/or your children’s content to the Lantern Library, you will be fully responsible for the aforementioned contents and the results of their submission and/or uploading to the Site and/or otherwise disseminating them.
  • In addition to the foregoing, by submitting, posting, publishing, broadcasting and/or uploading your and/or your child’s content within the framework of the Site, and/or by consenting to the educational staff to submit and upload your child’s content to the Lantern Library Sites, you represent and warrant to the Fund as follows:

a). You are the legal owner of the Submitted Content and/or you legally own all rights and everything required to deliver, broadcast and/or upload the Content to the Site and/or post it on the Site and to grant all licenses, permissions, and/or permissions to the Fund to use and exploit the Content as detailed below.

b). You consent to the use and retention of the content, images or videos, which will sanitize you and your children, in the Fund’s databases, and for its purposes, including public dissemination by the Fund and/or anyone on its behalf in any existing or future media such as website, written press and/or in any other advertising/marketing media, associated with the Lantern Library or its books, all at the sole discretion of the Foundation and without limitation of time.

T). You agree that the copyright in the images, content, and/or works that you submit to the Fund and/or send to the Fund, and/or when you give your consent to the Educational Staff, shall remain in your possession, and you shall have no claims with respect to such images, content, graphics, or videos, including claims for credit, royalties, or any other consideration from the Fund, the Lantern Library, the Educational Institution, and/or any third party as noted above, whether or not they are published.

w). The Fund is not responsible for the correctness, accuracy, reliability and integrity of the content posted on the Site and submitted to it by users and/or educational staff, nor is it responsible for errors, inaccuracies and omissions attributable to users, violation of rights and laws and/or any other damage to the interests of any person in this regard.

c). We hereby confirm that the Fund, any person acting on its behalf and/or the Educational Organization shall not be liable to you, any person acting on your behalf and/or third parties for any damage, loss, loss, expense, inconvenience, distress and/or prejudice associated with the Content provided by you and/or the Educational Staff and uploaded to the Website, including the use of the Content, and without prejudice to the consequences of the use of the Content, including the provision, advertising, display, distribution, transmission and interference by educational staff uploaded to the Site, including the use of the Content, and without prejudice to any direct or indirect result from the use of the Content including the provision of access, advertising, display, distribution, broadcasting and interference (online and otherwise) with such Content. h).   • It is prohibited to send a request to upload images, details or content that would reveal any personal information without the prior express written consent of the subject and/or parent/guardian of the subject.
  • It is strictly forbidden to post any information or other content that may harm or offend in any way, and to upload any content protected by intellectual property rights, copyrights and/or any other right, without first obtaining the express and irrevocable written permission of the legal owners.

The publication of such content is strictly prohibited, and any violation in this regard is entirely the responsibility of the person who sent it to the Lantern Library and will be dealt with immediately and strictly with legal action. The removal of prohibited content as detailed above does not preclude the Fund and/or any person acting on its behalf from exhausting legal remedies with the person posting such content, including the transmission of details to the responsible authorities, and claiming compensation for direct and/or indirect damages. Neither IFAD nor anyone on its behalf shall be liable in any way for such content and/or its display on the Site, but notwithstanding the above, they reserve the right to remove any content in their sole and absolute discretion for any reason whatsoever.

  1. Links to other sites or links from other sites / landing pages (landing page) Owned by the organization:

A. This website contains links to sites outside of the Fund’s website. These links are for convenience. These linked sites are not under the control of the Foundation and the Foundation is not responsible for the contents of any linked site or any link contained in a linked site, or for any changes or updates to these sites, and is not responsible for any damage that may occur as a result of accessing these sites and/or relying on their contents. b. In addition. If you are referred to the Fund’s Terms of Use from a landing page and/or from another site owned by the Fund, be aware that the Terms of Use above and below apply to you as part of the Service to which you have signed up.

  1. Content of the Lantern Library Sites and Limitation of Liability:

 

  • The information and content on the Website is transmitted AS-IS (as is). Anyone using the information and content on the Website and/or as sent to them by the Fund does so at their own full and exclusive risk and shall have no claims, demands and/or allegations of any kind whatsoever against the Fund, its donors and/or anyone affiliated with the Fund and/or the MKUK and its employees.   • Accordingly, you consent to the Fund sending you, from time to time, whether by itself and/or through a nominee, by postal mail, courier services, email, SMS, telephone or fax, advertisements as permitted by the Communications (Bezeq and Broadcasting) (Amendment No. 40) Act, 2008 (“Spam Act”) and to communicate with you if necessary in accordance with the provisions of the Spam Act and the Privacy Protection Act; or for the purpose of conducting and analyzing surveys and providing statistical information to third parties. Be clear that the Fund will transfer your details to third parties only to carry out the above, and that such third parties and/or their employees and/or anyone on their behalf are prohibited from using this information for any other purpose, except as stated in clause 5a.
  • You have the right to contact The Lantern Library, at any time, by emailing fanoos@hgf.org.il and asking to be removed from the mailing list and terminated.

B. Download content by user

  • When uploading user content or if you give your consent to educational staff to upload content with your child’s participation, we may collect information about you such as: Name, child’s and parent’s ID number, address, and content submitted by you as noted. The data you submit will be stored by Lantern Library through storage and cloud service providers and will not be transferred to any other party except as specified below or at the request of authorized authorities.
  • You consent to the use and retention of the details, content, images or videos, which may enable the profiling of you and your children, in databases owned by the Grinspoon Fund Foundation, for its purposes, including public dissemination by the Foundation and/or its designee, and in any existing or future media such as: On the website, in the written press and/or in any other advertising/marketing media contracted by the Lantern Bookstore or its books, all at the absolute discretion of the Fund and indefinitely and, if necessary, to agents working with the Fund to operate and manage the project such as public relations offices.
