Four friends decide to enter a talent show. A small red bird asks to join them, but they laugh and tell him he’s too small. Then a mysterious, tall stranger arrives to audition for lead singer, and turns out to be someone quite unexpected… A story that encourages us to look beyond appearances for true talents.

Age Group: The orchard

Dear Parents,

Friends notice an advertisement for a talent show that promise the first winner a valuable prize, so they decide to participate as singers and instruments players. But their band lacks a good singer, so they decide to hold singing auditions.

A little bird comes to the audition but is rejected for his tiny size. But the bird does not give up, and tricks the band into hearing his voice singing, eventually succeeding in causing the band to fall in love with his voice.

Children may undergo experiences like the bird, where people underestimate them for their age or size and not recognize actual abilities. It may be hard to integrate within a group of friends if one looks a little different. This book provides an opportunity to talk to your child about his/her desire to belong to a group and the possible challenges along the way.
