Let us reflect With our child, we explore the drawings, colors, and details. We pause to look at the lines and paths Matisse draws and ask: What do they look like? And how did the space change after Matisse added his drawings?

We can ask our child: How did Matisse feel when others noticed his drawings? How do you feel when you do something that’s uniquely yours? Why was Matisse hiding in his shell? How did the school walls change when the children started drawing with him? Have you ever felt shy about trying something new in front of others? If you were in “Louai’s” shoes, what would you say to encourage Matisse to come out and draw?

We spread a large sheet of paper on the floor, and everyone takes turns drawing different “traces”: lines, circles, and long or short paths. To create a variety of effects, we can use brushes, sponges, or even our hands to apply color. In the end, we discover how the various contributions came together to form a single, shared work, and we see that each person has made their own mark on the collective effort.

We Present: Funny Fashion

We put on a “fantasy fashion show” using mismatched clothes, a big hat, a sock on a hand, and other items. The child chooses a name for their character and walks with confidence! This activity helps them come up with creative ideas without fear of “making a mistake.”

We Create: A Special Bag

We prepare a small box in which the child can place items they love: a favorite color, a picture, a piece of fabric, or a drawing. This is their “safe space,” and we ask them: Why do you love these items?

Let's Play: Follow the Trail

Use a string or a strip of tape to draw a winding path on the floor, like a snail’s trail. The child walks along the line while maintaining balance, and at each turn describes something beautiful they saw today. This activity develops motor balance and enhances descriptive language skills.
