Dear Parents,

Many children create an imaginary friend to entertain them when they are alone or reveal their thoughts and feelings, especially when they are in distress. The imaginary friend can be a doll, an object, or a fictional friend that children use for emotional relief. Children represent their parents’ care for them through the care they provide for the imaginary friend. Sometimes, a dialogue with an imaginary friend helps children understand the world better, especially their social experiences.
